This was taken at a rocky beach bear Bristol, I like the colours of the models hair and the scarf that is flowing around her arm. Taken with a Canon 6d and a Canon 85 mm f/1.8 lens. Zoom lenses can be convenient but I do like to use prime lenses, they get you to think about what you are doing, have a nice shallow depth of field and make you use your feet instead if just standing there and using the zoom to frame.By using your feet, you can discover new angles which you may of otherwise missed.
This shot was taken during a walk through Ashton Court Estate. The balloon teams rocked up just as I was about to leave so I decided to stick around for a while. These balloons didn’t fly on this occasion, it looked like they were being prepped ready for next weeks Bristol International Balloon Fiesta!
I decided to go for a drive to Severn Beach to get some photos of the Severn Crossing. It was not quite the sunset of the previous days but I didn’t let that put me off. I did have black and white in mind but thought the colour version was good. It kind of feels monochromatic and I particularly like the texture in the foreground against the smooth sweeping line of the bridge.
